• Qualified installation: Have the ducting, roof or wall penetration and electrical connection completed by an appropriately licensed and qualified installer in accordance with the supplied instructions and applicable building regulations.
• Mounting: Suspend the island canopy directly above the BBQ cooking surface at a height suited to the appliance and installation manual; confirm all clearances before fixing.
• Duct routing: Connect the supplied 200mm acoustic flexi ducting to the twin external Pro Plus motor and route it through the roof or wall as specified in the installation manual; keep the ducting pulled taut at its full 200mm diameter, as loose ducting reduces extraction performance and increases noise.
• Duct length: Keep the duct run as close as possible to 3 metres for optimal extraction and noise performance, and do not exceed 5–6 metres in total length; every bend in the duct run adds the equivalent of an extra metre.
• Electrical connection: Provide a suitable power supply for the rangehood and remote external motor as specified in the installation manual.
• Clearances and ventilation: Follow every minimum clearance, weatherproofing and ventilation requirement in the supplied installation manual for outdoor/alfresco installations.
• Final installation checks: Confirm all ducting joints and electrical connections are secure and tested before use.

Whispair alfresco (BBQ) rangehoods are built from AISI316 marine-grade stainless steel, a more robust composition than the AISI304 stainless steel used across Whispair's indoor range, chosen specifically to withstand the harsher conditions of an outdoor or coastal environment. Whispair BBQ hoods are also deeper than a typical indoor rangehood, giving the extra coverage needed to process the additional heat, steam and grease generated by BBQ cooking.

Proudly designed and assembled in Australia, every Whispair rangehood is built at the company's factory in Dandenong South, Victoria, and uses S-Flow baffle filters exclusively across the Australian and New Zealand range. Whispair also works closely with specialist component suppliers, including EBM-papst in Germany, to develop the fan motor technology used across its remote motor systems.
