• Lights on: Pull the grill out more than 50mm and slide the light switch (C-1) from 0 to 1.
• Motor on: Pull the grill out more than 50mm and slide the motor switch (C-2) from 0 to 1 to start at low speed.
• Changing speed: Slide switch C-3 from 1 to 2 for medium speed and from 2 to 3 for high speed. The speed can be changed during operation.

• Qualified installation: Installation and electrical connection must be carried out in line with applicable regulations and the supplied template.
• Gas hobs: For gas cooking appliances the minimum distance from the hob to the hood must be at least 65cm.
• Ducting: Where ducted, use a rigid pipe with a minimum diameter of 120mm to evacuate fumes outside. The air must not be discharged into a flue used for gas or other fuel-burning appliances.
• Electrical: Check the house voltage matches the data label. The hood has a plug that connects to an accessible power socket.
• Supplied fixings: The hood is supplied with a spacer (F), 4 screws and 2 bulbs; use the spacer to close the gap between the hood and the wall.
• Room ventilation: Provide adequate ventilation when the hood runs with appliances burning gas or other fuels; the negative pressure in the room must not exceed 4 Pa.
• Household use: The hood is for household use only.
• Ducting guidance: Rigid or semi-rigid duct with a short run and minimal bends performs best. Flexible ribbed duct is discouraged because it reduces airflow and adds noise. Keep runs to about 5 metres, counting each 90° bend as 1 metre; longer runs need a TD500 or TD350 in-line motor fitted about 1 metre from the external vent on its own switch.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The Artusi ASO601RX is a recirculating slideout hood designed in Spain. It slides out when you start cooking and returns into the cabinet when you finish, so it suits kitchens where a canopy or chimney hood would take up too much room.

A carbon filter is included for recirculating use, and the hood can also be ducted from the top or rear outlet if you have an external duct run. Artusi's manual explains the three configurations: ducted from the top, ducted from the rear, and recirculating through the front.

The ASO601RX and ASO901RX share Artusi's specification sheet and operation manual. The manual notes it is prepared for more than one model, so some features described may not apply to the hood you are buying.

Artusi advises not flambéing food underneath the hood, keeping pans of hot oil under control and cleaning the metal filter regularly to avoid the risk of fire. The hood is intended for indoor household use.
