Artusi ASO600RX/3 60cm Wide Stainless Steel Slideout Rangehood

• 173m³/h recirculating airflow: Rated at 173 m³/h on Artusi's specification, which is well matched to a compact 60cm cooktop in a recirculating kitchen.
• Slideout design: The hood is telescopic: pull it out when you start cooking and slide it back into the cabinet when you finish. The operation manual notes the hood only powers on once it clicks into place, which acts as a safety switch.
• Motor and light switches on the front: Simple two-position switches for the motor (0, I, II) and the light (0, I) are within easy reach at the front of the hood, so there are no menus or touch panels to learn.
• LED lighting: Integrated LED lighting illuminates the cooktop while you cook. The operation manual specifies a replaceable E14 LED lamp (4W).
• Carbon filter included: A carbon filter is supplied in the box, so the hood is ready to recirculate filtered air back into the room without needing external ducting.

• Pulling out the hood: Pull the telescopic section out by its handle rail until you hear a click. If there is no click there is no power, because the click engages the safety switch.
• Motor switch: Use the motor switch on the front of the hood: 0 is off, I is the lower setting and II is the higher setting. The Artusi website describes three extraction speeds, while the operation manual shows these motor switch positions.
• Light switch: Use the light switch on the front of the hood: 0 is off and I is on. The LED lights the cooktop while you cook.
• Switching off: Set the motor to 0, switch the light off and push the telescopic section back into the hood.
• Ducted mode setup: For ducted installations the larger mode block is fitted and the small handle rail stays installed. The knockout is removed and the damper flap is fitted before connecting the Ø120mm duct.
• Recirculating mode setup: For recirculating installations the small mode block is fitted with the larger handle rail. The knockout is left in place, the tape is removed from the recirculation vents and the carbon filter is used.

• Qualified installation: Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified persons in line with applicable laws, regulations and safety standards. Turn the power off before starting.
• Two people: Two people are needed to install the hood.
• Mounting height: Install the hood no less than 600mm and no more than 750mm above the cooking surface.
• Fixing: Mark the cabinet using the supplied template and drill 4 x 7mm holes. The gap between the rear wall and the hood should not be more than 10mm.
• Ducted mode: Remove the knockout with a flat-head screwdriver, cut the attachment points with tin snips and screw the damper flap onto the hood. Connect a duct hose (not supplied) and make sure the cabinet hole for the damper flap and duct has been cut.
• Recirculating mode: Leave the knockout in place and remove the tape from the vents.
• Electrical: The power cord and plug must stay accessible. Check the voltage and frequency on the rating label match local supply.
• Hob size: The hood is intended for use over a hob with no more than four hob elements.
• Ducting guidance: Rigid or semi-rigid duct with a short run and minimal bends performs best. Flexible ribbed duct is discouraged because it reduces airflow and adds noise. Keep runs to about 5 metres, counting each 90° bend as 1 metre; longer runs need a TD500 or TD350 in-line motor fitted about 1 metre from the external vent on its own switch.
• Gas appliances: Provide adequate ventilation when the hood is used with gas or other fuel-burning appliances, and have any flued gas appliances tested by a competent person after installation to confirm there is no back flow of combustion gases.

The Artusi ASO600RX/3 is part of the newer slideout range, designed for kitchens where the hood needs to stay out of sight until it is needed. Because it tucks into the cabinet, it suits cooktops sitting under a wall unit where a canopy or chimney hood would not fit.

It is supplied with a carbon filter, so it can be installed without external ducting and still filter cooking odours and grease. If you do have a duct run, it can also be set up for ducted extraction using the Ø120mm outlet. Artusi's manual explains the different block and rail settings for each mode.

Artusi's operation manual covers the ASO600RX/3 and ASO900RX/3. Cooktop clearance, cut-out template details and fixing instructions are in the manual supplied with the hood, and installation should be completed by a qualified person.

This hood is for indoor household use. Artusi cautions that accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
