Product Overview

The Artusi AGH7500NB is a 70cm built-in gas cooktop with five burners and a 15.2 MJ/h centre wok burner on a Nano Matte Black 8mm tempered glass surface. The burners total 41.0 MJ/h on natural gas (40.0 MJ/h on LPG): a triple-ring wok burner, a 9.5 MJ/h rapid burner, two 6.0 MJ/h semi-rapid burners and a 4.3 MJ/h auxiliary burner.

Front-mounted knobs control the burners using mains-powered electronic spark ignition: press any knob, turn it to the high flame position and hold for 5 to 10 seconds while the flame safeguard warms up. Flame power symbols and zone indicators show which burner each knob controls. The burners are Italian-made Defendi flat burners with a wider range of sizes than the 60cm AGH6400NB.

The surface is 8mm tempered glass in Nano Matte Black. Cast iron trivets support cookware, and a flame failure device on each burner with an automatic gas cut-off shuts off the gas if a flame goes out. The rapid burner takes pans up to 230mm and the wok burner up to 270mm on natural gas.

It measures 700mm wide, 510mm deep and 100mm high for a 552mm x 470mm cut-out in a 30 to 40mm worktop. It runs on natural gas with the supplied regulator or on LPG with the supplied injectors, plugs into a 10 amp outlet, and must be installed by a licensed gasfitter.

Installation & Requirements
  • Cut-out: 552 x 470mm (W x D). Worktop thickness 30 to 40mm; apply the supplied adhesive sealing tape to the underside lip of the burner box, lower it into the cut-out and secure it with the clamping brackets and screws.
  • Clearances above: 650mm to overhead cupboards and rangehood, and 750mm to an overhead exhaust or ceiling fan.
  • Side and rear clearance: 200mm from the edge of any burner to a side or rear wall or vertical surface. Horizontal surfaces next to the cooktop must be no higher than the cooktop surface.
  • Gas connection: Installation by a licensed gasfitter to AS 5601, local gas regulations, AS/NZS 3000 and building codes. Connect the supplied elbow to the manifold, check the seals, and fit the natural gas regulator (integral test point) with approved thread tape or compound. Leave room for the regulator and flexible hose, with the supply connection point, test point and regulator adjustment screw accessible after installation.
  • Flexible hose: A flexible hose must be approved to AS/NZS 1869 Class B, 10mm diameter and no longer than 1.0m, and must not touch the flue outlet of an under-bench oven. Connect it to a fixed outlet 800 to 850mm above the floor and within 250mm outside the width of the appliance.
  • Gas pressure and testing: Check the gas type on the label under the cooktop. Set 1.00 kPa on natural gas at the regulator test point (manometer on a 6mm hose, triple-ring wok and auxiliary lit), then test every burner individually and all together. Check joints for leaks with soapy water, never a naked flame.
  • LPG conversion: The Universal LPG regulator is set to 2.75 kPa outlet pressure by adjusting its spring, and the supplied LPG injectors replace the natural gas injectors. Conversion and minimum flame adjustment must be done by an authorised person, and a duplicate data plate fitted on an adjacent surface such as inside a cupboard door.
  • Electrical: A 10 amp general purpose outlet (GPO) is required. The power cord must not touch hot surfaces and stay below 75 degrees C, and the outlet must stay accessible after installation.
  • Fitting the burners: Fit the burners and trivets over the igniter (S) and thermocouple (T); the triple-ring wok burner sits on its supports. Each trivet must seat on its locator and not rotate.

Extra Information

The AGH7500NB sits in the middle of the Artusi matte black gas family. It has the same five-burner layout and 41.0 MJ/h total as the 90cm AGH9500NB, in a 700mm body that suits benches where 900mm is too wide, while the 60cm AGH6400NB trims this to four burners. Knobs run along the front edge, with the glass kept clear behind them.

The centre wok burner is reachable from both sides, and the 9.5 MJ/h rapid burner at rear left is the one to use for a large stockpot or a frying pan that needs a hard sear. The two semi-rapid burners suit everyday pots and the auxiliary burner at front right holds a gentle simmer. Use cookware that matches each burner and sits centrally: 80mm and up on the auxiliary, 140mm and up on a semi-rapid, and 195mm and up on the rapid and wok burners.

In the box are the cooktop, the user manual, a roll of sealing tape, four installation clips with four ST4.2x24 screws, the natural gas regulator, an elbow with three washers, the LPG injectors, a set of additional rating labels and the power cord. Backed by the Artusi 2 year warranty, extendable to 5 years when you register your product.
