• Choosing a programme: open the door, press the On/Off button, close the door and press the Program button until the programme you want lights up. The programme steps through Normal (ECO), Glass, 90 min, Rapid, Intense and Heavy. Then turn on the water tap and press Start/Pause; the machine begins working after about 10 seconds.
• Intense: for the heaviest soiled loads such as pots, pans, casserole dishes and dishes with dried-on food.
• Heavy: for heavily soiled loads such as pots, plates, glasses and lightly soiled pans.
• Normal (ECO): the standard daily cycle for normally soiled loads and the test cycle for the ratings (170 minutes, 0.69 kWh, 10.2 litres).
• Glass: for lightly soiled loads such as glasses, crystal and fine china, with a 42°C wash.
• 90 min: a 90 minute wash for lightly soiled crockery and glass.
• Rapid: a shorter wash of about 30 minutes at 40°C for lightly soiled loads that do not need drying.
• Function button: selects Extra Drying or Strong Wash, with an indicator for each. Extra Drying adds a boost to the drying stage.
• Delay: press the Delay button to start the cycle 3, 6, 9 or 12 hours later; the delay indicators show the time you choose.
• Child lock: press the Delay and Program buttons together for 5 seconds to lock or unlock the controls, with an indicator showing when it is active.
• Rinse aid indicator: lights when the dispenser needs a refill. The dial has six settings, with a factory setting of 4: raise it if there are drops of water or lime spots and lower it if there are sticky whitish stains or a bluish film on glass.
• Detergent: fill the detergent dispenser just before each cycle, with the larger compartment for the main wash and an extra dose in the smaller compartment for heavily soiled loads (pre-wash).
• Adding a forgotten dish: press Start/Pause to stop the wash, open the door a little, wait for the spray arms to stop, add the dish and close the door. Press Start/Pause and the dishwasher runs again after 10 seconds. This works any time before the detergent compartment opens.
• Changing a programme: possible only shortly after the start. Press Start/Pause to put the machine in standby, hold the Program button for more than 3 seconds, choose the new programme and press Start/Pause again. Refill the detergent dispenser if needed.
• If the door is opened mid-cycle: the machine pauses and the buzzer sounds every minute until the door is closed, then it resumes after about 10 seconds. If power is switched off mid-cycle, re-select the programme when switched on again.
• End of cycle: the buzzer sounds 8 times and then stops. Switch the appliance off, turn off the water tap and wait about 15 minutes before unloading, lower basket first. In standby the appliance powers off by itself after 30 minutes without operation.
• Error codes: E1 for a longer inlet time (tap closed, restricted intake or low water pressure), and codes for not reaching the required temperature and for overflow.

• Installation type: Semi integrated, fitted into cabinetry with a door panel supplied and fitted by your builder; the stainless steel control panel remains visible.
• Qualified installation: Pipework and electrical connections should be done by professionals, with the power disconnected before installing.
• Location: Choose a position near the existing inlet and drain hoses and power cord, ideally beside the sink so the drain hose connects easily.
• Cabinet opening: Allow for a 600 mm wide opening and a height to suit the 815 mm body (feet adjustable to a maximum of 820 mm). Leave less than 5 mm between the top of the dishwasher and the cabinet, with the outer door aligned to the cabinet, and leave an entrance for the electrical, drain and water supply lines.
• Corner installation: If installed at the corner of a cabinet, leave at least 50 mm of space so the door can open fully.
• Door panel: The panel weighs 3 to 8 kg. Fit it to the outer door using the supplied hook and the self-adhesive fastening pads: press one pad onto the panel and the felted pad onto the outer door, position the panel and fix it with screws, replacing the four short screws with the four long screws.
• Door spring tension: With the panel fitted, turn the adjusting screw with an Allen key clockwise to tighten the left and right door springs. Tension is correct when the door stays horizontal when fully opened, yet rises to close with a slight lift of a finger.
• Installation steps: Affix the condensation strip under the work surface flush with its edge, connect the inlet hose, drain hose and power cord, slide the dishwasher into position, level it and fit the furniture door.
• Levelling: Place a spirit level on the door and rack track to check level front to back and side to side, adjusting the three levelling legs individually; the rear foot adjusts from the front with an Allen key and the front feet with a flat screwdriver. The maximum foot adjustment is 50 mm, and care is needed so the dishwasher does not tip over.
• Securing the dishwasher: On a normal work surface, put the installation hook into the slot on the side and fix it to the work surface with wood screws. On marble or granite, fix the side with a screw.
• Water connection: 1800 mm VDE inlet hose to a threaded 3/4 inch connector, fastened tightly. Let the water run clear first if the pipes are new or unused, and use a new hose set; old hose sets must not be reused.
• Water pressure: The permitted inlet water pressure is 0.04 MPa minimum and 1.0 MPa maximum.
• Drain hose: 1400 mm outlet hose into a drain pipe of at least 40 mm diameter or the sink, without bending or crimping, with the top of the hose under 1000 mm.
• Electrical: 240V through a 10A GPO with a standard 3-pin plug, on a separate circuit serving only this appliance with a 10 amp time delay fuse or circuit breaker. No extension cords or adaptors.
• Earthing: The appliance must be earthed. Never cut or remove the earthing connection, and have a socket that does not suit the plug replaced by a qualified electrician.
• Before first use: Check the machine is level and fixed, the water valve is open, hose connections are tight and not leaking, the wiring is secure, the hoses are not knotted and all packing material is removed. Do not bend or flatten the power cord, and have a damaged cord replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The ADWSI601X sits between a freestanding and a fully integrated dishwasher: the stainless steel control panel stays visible at the top of the door, so you can see and use the controls without opening it, while your builder fits a door panel of 3 to 8 kg below it. The door panel is not supplied.

Hot-fill capability (up to 90°C) lets the machine draw from a hot water supply, which can shorten cycle times in homes with solar or gas hot water. Cold fill works equally well through the same VDE inlet hose.

The 4.5 star WELS rating is for 10.2 litres per wash. Scrape dishes rather than pre-rinsing, add detergent just before each cycle, and keep the rinse aid dispenser topped up for the best drying results.
