Product Overview

The Artusi ADWFI451 is a 9 place setting, 45cm fully integrated dishwasher that is built in behind your own cabinet door panel. A 448 mm wide, 815 mm high and 550 mm deep body gives narrow kitchens a full-height machine with a grey basket, a pull-out adjustable upper basket and foldable racks on the upper shelf.

Six wash programmes cover every load: Intensive, Heavy, ECO, Glass, Rapid and a 90 minute wash. A Half Load option, an Extra Drying option, a natural drying system and a 1 to 24 hour delay start let you tailor each cycle, while electronic push button controls and an LED display keep operation simple at a quiet 49 dBA.

A flow-meter water sensor, an anti-flood device and a VDE hose protect the machine and your kitchen, and a flip and slide-able detergent dispenser makes loading each cycle easy. It carries a 3 star WELS water rating at 10.9 litres per wash and an Energy Rating Calculator figure of 205 kWh per year.

Panel ready with a door panel of 439 mm by 720 mm weighing 2.5 to 6 kg, the ADWFI451 suits slimline kitchens and renovations that want a high-capacity dishwasher hidden in the cabinetry.

  • 3 star WELS water rating: 10.9 litres per wash.

  • Natural drying system: dries the load without an added heated drying stage.

  • Flow-meter water sensor: monitors the water taken in during each cycle.
  • Anti-flood device and VDE hose: overflow protection and a safety-approved water hose.
  • Flip and slide-able dispenser: a detergent dispenser that opens easily and slides out of the way.
  • Quiet 49 dBA operation: a low noise level for open-plan living.
  • Electronic controls and LED display: push buttons for power, programmes, delay, extra drying and half load, with a rinse aid indicator.
Programmes / Functions
  • Choosing a programme: press the On/Off button to switch the dishwasher on, then press the Program button to step to the wash programme you want. The program indicators show your choice and the display screen shows the remaining time, the delay time and any error codes.
  • Intensive: for the heaviest soiled crockery such as pots, pans and casserole dishes that have been sitting with dried-on food.
  • Heavy: for heavily soiled loads such as pots, plates, glasses and lightly soiled pans.
  • ECO: the standard daily cycle for normally soiled pots, plates, glasses and lightly soiled pans, and the test cycle for the AS/NZS 2007.1 comparison.
  • Glass: for lightly soiled glasses, crystal and fine china.
  • Rapid: a shorter wash for lightly soiled loads that do not need drying.
  • 90 Min: a 90 minute wash for lightly soiled crockery and glass.
  • Half Load: use with about five place settings or fewer to save water and energy; it works with Intensive, Heavy, ECO, Glass and 90 Min, and the half load indicator lights when it is selected.
  • Extra Drying: adds a higher drying temperature for better drying; energy use increases, so use it for programmes such as Intensive, Heavy, ECO, Glass and 90 Min. The extra drying indicator shows when it is on.
  • Delay: press the Delay button to start the cycle up to 24 hours later.
  • Indicators: the control panel shows a power indicator, a rinse aid warning light and a program ending light, so you know when the rinse aid dispenser needs refilling and when the programme has finished.
  • Adding a forgotten dish: open the door a little to stop the dishwasher, wait for the spray arms to stop before opening it completely, add the dish and close the door; the dishwasher starts running again after a few seconds. This is only possible before the detergent dispenser opens.
  • Changing a programme: open the door, hold the Program button for more than 3 seconds to cancel the running programme, then select a new one and close the door. Refill the detergent dispenser if the cycle has been running for more than a short time.
  • If power is switched off mid-cycle: switch on again, re-select the wash programme and start it again.
  • End of cycle: the buzzer sounds 8 times and then stops. Turn off the appliance, shut off the water tap and wait around 15 minutes before unloading, lower basket first, so dishes cool and dry better.
  • Auto power off: the appliance powers off by itself after 3 minutes in standby without any operation.

Installation & Requirements
  • Installation type: Fully integrated, fitted into cabinetry with your own door panel attached to the outer door. Position the dishwasher near the water inlet, drain and power cord.
  • Qualified installation: Pipework and electrical connections should be completed by a qualified professional with the power disconnected before installing.
  • Cabinet opening: Measure the opening at 448 mm wide, 815 mm high and 550 mm deep, and allow for the supplied water, drain and power connections at the rear. Leave less than 5 mm between the top of the dishwasher and the cabinet, and at least 50 mm of space at a corner so the door can open.
  • Panel and door springs: Fit a door panel of 439 x 720 mm weighing 2.5 to 6 kg and adjust the door spring tension with an Allen key so the door stays horizontal when opened yet closes with a light lift of a finger.
  • Feet and levelling: Level the machine with a spirit level using the adjustable feet, then secure it to the benchtop or side panel so it cannot tip when the door is open.
  • Water connection: Connect the cold water hose tightly to a 3/4 inch connector and flush the line first if the pipes are new or unused so debris cannot block the inlet. Use the new VDE hose supplied; old hose sets must not be reused.
  • Water pressure: The permitted inlet water pressure is 0.04 MPa minimum and 1.0 MPa maximum.
  • Drain hose: Run it into a drain pipe of at least 40 mm diameter or the sink without kinks, with the top of the hose under 1000 mm. A damaged or kinked hose can stop the water draining.
  • Electrical: Requires a 220-240V, 50Hz supply through an earthed 10A socket on its own circuit, with no extension cords or adaptors.
  • Earthing: The appliance must be earthed; do not modify the plug supplied, and if it does not fit the outlet have a proper outlet installed by a qualified electrician.
  • Supply cord: Do not bend or flatten the power cord during installation; a damaged cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
  • Before first use: Check the machine is level and fixed, the water tap is open, hoses are tight and unkinked, the wiring is secure and all packing material is removed, then fill the rinse aid and detergent dispensers.
  • Capacity note: The maximum number of place settings to be washed is 9.

Extra Information

The ADWFI451 is a slimline 45cm model, so measure the cabinet opening at 448 mm wide before ordering and allow for the supplied water, drain and power connections at the rear. The door panel is not included and must be 439 mm wide and 720 mm high for a clean, flush front.

Test conditions for the 9 place setting rating use the ECO programme, the upper basket with its upper wheels on the rails, a rinse aid setting of 6 and the door opened slightly after each wash. The rinse aid dial starts at 3: increase it for water drops or lime spots and reduce it for a whitish residue or a bluish film on glass.

The 10.9 litre WELS figure is for the ECO programme, and the 205 kWh per year energy figure comes from the Government Energy Rating Calculator. Add detergent just before each cycle, scrape off food rather than pre-rinsing, and let dishes cool for around 15 minutes before unloading the lower basket first.
