Product Overview

The Artusi ADW8TTX is an 8 place setting benchtop dishwasher in 304 stainless steel, designed for kitchens where there is no room, or no plumbing, for a built-in machine. It sits on the benchtop at 550 mm wide, 500 mm deep and 590 mm high, connects to a standard cold water tap supply and a sink drain, and needs only a power point to be ready to use.

Six wash programmes (Intensive, Heavy, ECO, 90 Min, Glass and Rapid) cover everything from heavily soiled pots to delicate glassware, and a 2, 4 or 8 hour delay start lets you run the cycle when it suits you. LED electric controls with push buttons for power, programs, delay and start/pause keep operation simple, and the natural drying system finishes the load without extra heat.

A hard silicone, water-resistant base protects your benchtop, the lower rack takes dinner plates up to 28 cm, and the upper rack can be removed to fit larger dishes. Two cutlery racks, a tablet dispenser and a rinse aid dispenser round out the thoughtful design, all at a quiet 49 dB(A).

It carries a 3.5 star WELS water rating at just 9.2 litres per wash and an Energy Rating Calculator figure of 205 kWh per year. The ADW8TTX is not suitable for built-in installation.

Programmes / Functions
  • Choosing a programme: close the door and press the Power button to switch the machine on and light the screen. Press the Program button to select a programme (its indicator lights), then press Start/Pause and the dishwasher starts its cycle. Make sure the water supply is turned on to full pressure first.
  • Intensive: the strongest wash for heavily soiled pots, pans, casserole dishes and dishes with dried-on food.
  • Heavy: for heavily soiled plates and cookware.
  • ECO: the standard daily cycle for normally soiled loads such as pots, plates, glasses and lightly soiled pans, and the test cycle for the ratings (160 minutes, 9.2 litres and 0.55 kWh).
  • 90 Min: a 90 minute wash for everyday loads.
  • Glass: a gentler wash for lightly soiled glassware, crystal and fine china.
  • Rapid: a shorter wash for lightly soiled loads that need a quick clean.
  • Delay start: press the Delay button to set 2, 4 or 8 hours; the delay time indicator shows the setting.
  • Start/Pause: starts the selected programme or pauses it while the dishwasher is working.
  • Display indicators: separate lights show delay time (2h/4h/8h), programme end, low rinse aid and a closed water faucet.
  • Rinse aid: use branded liquid rinse aid only. The warning light shows when a refill is needed, and the optical level indicator beside the cap should never fall below 1/4 full.
  • Rinse aid dial: six settings with a factory and recommended setting of 4. If dishes are not drying or are spotted, move to the next higher number; reduce it if you see sticky whitish stains or a bluish film on glassware.
  • Detergent: add detergent to the larger cavity for the main wash and, for more heavily soiled loads, some into the smaller cavity for the pre-wash. Use dishwasher detergent only, and add powder just before washing.
  • Adding a forgotten dish: press Start/Pause, wait 5 seconds, open the door carefully (hot steam may scald), add the dish, close the door and press Start/Pause after 10 seconds. This works any time before the detergent dispenser opens.
  • Changing a programme: possible only shortly after the start. Press Start/Pause to pause, hold the Program button for more than 3 seconds to cancel, select the new programme and press Start/Pause; the dishwasher starts after 10 seconds. Refill the detergent dispenser if needed.
  • Loading tips: face cups, glasses and pans downwards, keep plates in front of the detergent dispenser to 19 cm or smaller, and place sharp knives pointing down or horizontally. Do not overload.
  • Unloading: wait around 15 minutes after the programme ends before taking out glass and cutlery, and empty the lower rack first to stop drips from the upper rack.
  • Standby: the appliance switches off automatically after 30 minutes without operation.
  • Fault indicators: a flickering Rapid light indicates a longer inlet time (tap closed, restricted water or low pressure), Rapid and 90 Min together indicate the required temperature is not reached, and a flickering Glass light indicates an overflow. If an overflow occurs, turn off the main water supply before calling for service.

Installation & Requirements
  • Installation type: Benchtop; place it on a flat, level, stable benchtop close to a tap and sink. Not suitable for built-in installation.
  • Qualified installation: The pipework and electrical equipment should be installed by professionals, with the power disconnected before installing.
  • Positioning: Place the machine with its back against the wall and its sides along adjacent cabinets or walls. The water supply and drain hoses can be positioned to the right or left side to suit.
  • Space: Allow for a depth of 964 mm in front of the machine when the door is open, and make sure the door can close without obstruction.
  • Levelling: Adjust the feet so the machine sits level, and secure the unit to the side or benchtop once connected.
  • Water connection: Connect the cold water hose to a threaded 3/4 inch connector and fasten it tightly. Let the water run clear first if the pipes are new or unused, and use the new hose set; old hose sets must not be reused. In new builds, flush the plumbing before connecting.
  • Safety supply hose: The double-walled hose blocks the flow of water if the supply hose breaks. Pull it fully out of the storage compartment at the rear, screw it hand tight to the 3/4 inch tap and add a 1/4 turn with a spanner or pliers, then turn the water fully on before starting.
  • Sink spray hose: A hose that attaches to a sink spray can burst if installed on the same water line as the dishwasher; disconnect it and plug the hole if your sink has one.
  • Water pressure: The permitted water pressure is 0.04 to 1.0 MPa (0.4 to 10 bar).
  • Drain hose: Fit the 120 cm drain hose so it is not kinked or squashed. If it connects to a spigot in the sink S bend, drill the spigot out to the internal diameter of the hose. The waste connection must be less than 100 cm above the bottom of the dishwasher, and an extension must be a similar hose no longer than 4 metres.
  • Draining excess water: If the sink is 1000 mm or higher from the floor, excess water in the hoses cannot drain directly into it and must be drained into a bowl held lower than the sink.
  • First run: Remove tape, foam and the manual from inside the machine, open the tap and check for leaks, then run a short programme to confirm the unit fills and drains.
  • Electrical: 140 cm power cord to a 10A earthed power point (220-240V, 50Hz) on a separate circuit serving only this appliance, with a 10A, 13A or 16A time delay fuse or circuit breaker; no extension cords or adaptors.
  • Earthing: The appliance must be properly earthed. Never cut or remove the earthing connection, and have a socket that does not suit the plug replaced by a qualified electrician.
  • Supply cord: Do not excessively bend or flatten the power cord; a damaged cord must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
  • Moving the machine: Keep it upright where possible; if absolutely necessary it can be laid on its back.

Extra Information

The ADW8TTX is Artusi's answer for small kitchens, rentals and apartments where a plumbed-in dishwasher is not possible. It plugs into a standard power point and connects to your tap, with the hard silicone water-resistant base protecting your benchtop.

The lower rack accepts dinner plates up to 28 cm, and removing the upper rack creates space for larger pots, bowls and platters. Two cutlery racks keep cutlery separated for a cleaner finish, and the natural drying system leaves the cavity free of heat build-up.

The 3.5 star WELS rating is for 9.2 litres per wash, and the 205 kWh per year energy figure comes from the Government Energy Rating Calculator. Warranty is 2 years, extended to 5 years with product registration.
