The BVE9101B1 is designed to support sous vide cooking preparation by vacuum sealing ingredients prior to low-temperature steam cooking. Vacuum sealing removes oxygen from the storage environment, assisting with flavour retention, freezer protection, controlled marinating, and extended refrigerated storage when food is stored appropriately.

Bosch specifies that only suitable vacuum sealing bags and approved vacuum containers should be used with the appliance. The drawer is also suitable for vacuum sealing jars, containers, marinades, liquids, fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, and opened wine bottles using the supplied accessories.

The push-pull drawer mechanism enables operation without a visible handle, supporting clean integrated kitchen designs commonly used in contemporary appliance stacks. The integrated spring-assisted opening system allows operation even when hands are occupied during food preparation.
