Oven functions (per the Whirlpool quick guide):

• Conventional: for cooking any kind of dish on one shelf only.
• Convection Bake: for baking cakes with juicy fillings on a single shelf, and it can also be used for cooking on two shelves.
• Forced Air: for cooking different foods that need the same temperature on several shelves (maximum three) at the same time, without odours being transferred from one food to another.
• Grill: for grilling steaks, kebabs and sausages, cooking vegetables au gratin or toasting bread. When grilling meat, place a dripping pan on any level below the wire shelf with 200ml of drinking water.
• Turbo Grill: for roasting large joints of meat (legs, roast beef, chicken). Use a dripping pan below the wire shelf with 200ml of drinking water to collect the cooking juices.
• Bottom Heating: for browning the bottom of dishes, and recommended for slow cooking, finishing very liquid dishes or concentrating sauces and gravies.
• Air Fry: the cavity heats up while the fan circulates hot air, for many foods with less oil. Place the food in a single layer on the Air Fry basket without overlapping, put the basket on the wire shelf and add a baking tray on a lower level to catch crumbs and drips. Avoid using multiple trays.
• Pizza: for baking different types and sizes of pizza and bread. Swap the position of the baking trays halfway through cooking.
• Defrosting: for defrosting food more quickly.
• Smart Clean: a low-temperature steam cycle. Pour 100-120ml of drinking water into the bottom of the oven and turn the selection, timer and thermostat knobs to the Smart Clean icon. The guide suggests running it for about 35 minutes.
• Light: switches on the oven light.

Controls and daily use:

• Selection knob: turn to a function symbol to switch the oven on, and back to the off position to switch it off.
• Thermostat knob: turn to the required temperature to start the selected function. The LED switches on while heating and goes off when the set temperature is reached.
• Timer knob: sets a cooking time between 1 and 120 minutes. The oven switches off at the end, and with the timer at 0 the oven will not switch on.

• Installer: the oven must be handled and installed by two or more people wearing protective gloves, and the installation and electrical connection must be carried out by a qualified technician.
• Cut-out: W 560mm x H 583mm x D 560mm, for installation under a counter or in a wall cabinet unit. Carry out all cabinet cutting before fitting the oven and remove all wood chips and sawdust.
• Cabinetry: do not obstruct the minimum gap between the worktop and the upper edge of the oven, and follow the ventilation gaps and 90°C cabinet temperature rating shown in the installation guide.

For smaller appliances such as microwaves, you may be asked to bring the product to your nearest authorised service agent. Please have your model number, serial number, and proof of purchase ready when submitting your claim.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

This oven is one of the few in the range that pairs Air Fry with a Cook 3 airflow, so a full dinner can be built around one oven. Cook 3 lets you put three different dishes on different levels, for example a roast, vegetables and a dessert, without the flavours travelling from one to the other. For air frying, always put the Air Fry tray on the wire shelf, spread a little oil on fresh or homemade foods, and add an empty tray on the lowest level to catch grease. Turn or mix the food halfway through for an even result.

The use and care guide includes an Air Fry cooking table with a good starting point for most foods: frozen fries (500-700g) at 200°C for 20 to 30 minutes, frozen chicken nuggets at 200°C for 15 to 20 minutes, fish sticks at 220°C for 15 to 20 minutes and chicken wings (200-800g) at 220°C for 20 to 40 minutes. The standard cooking table suggests lasagne or baked pasta at 190-200°C for 45 to 65 minutes, and chicken at 200-230°C for 50 to 100 minutes per kilo. Remember that placing food in before the LED has switched off can affect the result.

Before first use, heat the empty oven at 250°C for about one hour with the room ventilated, to burn off any manufacturing odours. The timer knob must not be left at 0 or the oven will not switch on, which is the first thing to check if the oven seems dead. Both finishes share identical specifications, so choose W4OMK381HU0BA for black or W4OMK381HU0XA for stainless steel. The supplier lists the accessories as varying by model, so confirm the exact tray set with Arisit if it matters for your customer.
