• Burner control: four control knobs set each of the main burners independently, each lit with a blue LED, and the rear infrared burner is used for the rotisserie.
• Lighting the BBQ: open the hood and check every knob is off, then push down and turn a knob anticlockwise to HIGH while the igniter sparks. If it does not light, turn the knob off, wait a few minutes and try again, then light the other burners in sequence. Make sure the hood is open when lighting the main burners and the rear infrared burner.
• Manual match lighting: the user manual describes lighting a burner with a match if the electronic ignition is not working.
• First use: light all the main burners and run them on HIGH for 15 minutes with the hood closed to heat clean the internal parts and dissipate odour from the finish. Some colour change in the cooking area is normal.
• Rotisserie roasting: fit the rotisserie arm and forks, plug the motor into a standard 10 amp power point and use the rear infrared burner for even roasting of cuts up to 7kg, watching progress through the viewing window.
• Roasting with the hood closed: the double-skinned hood holds heat and the integrated thermostat shows the temperature inside. With the hood closed and all burners on, keep them on the LOW flame position.

• Method 1, 30mm feet: the BBQ sits directly on the cabinetry on the supplied 30mm feet. Recommended cut-out is wider than 769mm x 229mm high x 530mm deep.
• Method 2, mount bracket (no spacers): the BBQ rests on the cabinetry using the side mount bracket. Recommended cut-out is wider than 779mm x 212mm high x 530mm deep.
• Method 3, mount bracket with 50mm spacers: ideal for timber cabinetry and the only method for cabinetry made of combustible materials. Recommended cut-out is 855mm x 232mm high x 530mm deep, and the cut-out width must be bigger than 839mm and smaller than 936mm so the bracket rests on the cabinetry edges.
• Cut-out sizes: do not cut your cabinetry or benchtop until you have the BBQ on site and have measured it, as the cut-out sizes are indicative only.
• Clearances: allow at least 180mm behind the BBQ to any wall so the hood can open, and at least 30mm clearance below the BBQ for ventilation. Keep at least 50mm from combustible materials.
• Enclosure: the cut-out enclosure material must be non-combustible, the ventilation of the BBQ and gas cylinder compartment must never be blocked, and floor clearance and a cavity beneath the BBQ must be kept.
• Gas cylinder: do not place the gas cylinder directly underneath the BBQ. The maximum cylinder size is 9kg, and spare cylinders must be stored outdoors and not in the cabinet.
• Gas connection: installation and any natural gas conversion must be done by a licensed gas fitter or plumber. Natural gas inlet piping must be at least 15mm in diameter with a lever operated shut-off valve near the appliance, and any flexible hose must be AGA certified to AS/NZS 1869 with an internal diameter of at least 10mm. The conversion kits do not include the female bayonet fitting for wall connection, which your gas fitter or plumber must supply.
• Power: the supplied transformer connects to a 230-240V power point and must be fixed well away from the BBQ, and the rotisserie motor needs a standard 10 amp power point. The ignition also needs 1 x AA battery, which is not included. Keep all cords and electrical components dry.
• Outdoor and alfresco areas: use outdoors with natural ventilation, or in an enclosed alfresco area with a roof and 3 walls and at least 25% natural air ventilation. The BBQ is not for indoor use.
• Range hood: a range hood with optional interlocking system is recommended for enclosed alfresco areas.
• User manual: read the user manual thoroughly before installing or using the BBQ.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. The 401WB is for the cook who wants a built-in BBQ that does more than grill. The motorised rotisserie and rear infrared burner turn it into an outdoor oven for whole chickens and larger roasts, and the viewing window lets you check on them without losing heat. When you want something quicker, the open and flat cast iron plates cover everything from steaks to breakfast.

Both finishes share the same burners, plates, rotisserie and controls, and the Black model simply adds a black powder coated finish over the 304 stainless steel. The same specifications and cut-out sizes apply to both, so you can choose purely on the look of your outdoor kitchen.

Cabinetry matters with this one. Three installation methods are available, and timber cabinetry must use the bracket and 50mm spacer method, so plan the cut-out around your cabinet maker. The BBQ is supplied for LPG and can be converted to natural gas by a licensed gas fitter, who will need to supply a wall bayonet fitting, and a range hood with optional interlock is recommended in enclosed alfresco areas.
