Product Overview

The Midea MMW12VT34B is a 34L benchtop turntable microwave in black with dark stainless trim, 1200W of microwave output and Smart Inverter technology. A generous 315mm glass turntable and a 519mm wide body make it a good match for family-sized dishes and bigger portions, while still sitting comfortably on a standard benchtop.

Smart Inverter technology adjusts power to the exact amount of heat your food needs, and a Smart Humidity Sensor detects the steam released from food to fine-tune the cooking time and power. Eight preset menus (Melt/Soften, Beverage, Sensor Reheat, Pasta, Vegetable, Potato, Pizza and Chicken) take care of everyday favourites at the touch of a button, and Even Reheat spreads warmth across the whole dish from edge to centre.

Touch controls and a white LED display keep it simple to use, with ten power levels, defrost by weight or time, speedy cooking, multi-stage cooking, a kitchen timer, an Eco mode and a child lock. It is designed for household and similar use, with the rear of the unit placed against a wall.

Extra Information

The two sensor systems are worth understanding. Sensor Cook and Sensor Reheat work out the cooking time for you, so there is no need to pick a time or power level, but the oven door must stay closed while it is sensing or the programme is cancelled. Once sensing finishes, the calculated cooking time counts down on the display. The sensor is intended for raw or semi-processed foods, so for anything else the manual power levels and the Even Reheat function give you full control.

Only use utensils that are suitable for microwave ovens. Microwave-safe dinnerware, heat-resistant glassware, microwave-safe plastic and parchment paper can be used, while metal or metal-trimmed utensils, aluminium trays, food cartons with metal handles, metal twist ties and paper bags should be avoided as they can cause arcing or fire. Glass jars should have their lids removed, and a browning dish must sit at least 5mm above the turntable. To test an unfamiliar dish, put it in the oven with a cup of cold water (250ml) and run it on maximum power for 1 minute, and do not use it for microwave cooking if the empty dish is warm.

Never run the oven empty or with the door open, and do not heat liquids or foods in sealed containers, eggs in their shell or whole hard-boiled eggs, as they can explode. Beverages can boil suddenly after heating, so take care when handling containers, and stir or shake baby food and feeding bottles before checking the temperature. It is normal for steam to come out of the vents or collect on the oven door, for the oven light to dim at low power levels and for the oven to cause some radio or TV interference. If the supply cord is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person.
