Product Overview

The Cook N Dine UltraDine Plus MO-80 and MO-111 are built-in electric teppanyaki grills for outdoor kitchens, alfresco areas, balconies and large home kitchens. The MO-80 has one generous 800mm x 600mm cooking surface, while the MO-111 is a double-width 1110mm x 610mm model with two independent cooking wells, so you can cook two dishes at different temperatures at once.

Each grill has a solid 4mm 304 (V2A) German stainless steel top that is cold pressed, hand-welded and finished in a silk-brushed look. Shallow Dip Technology (ThermoFlex) lets the plate flex gently into a shallow wok-like dip as it heats, keeping sauces, juices and marinades in the cooking centre, then settle back flat for a simple wipe down.

The MO-80 runs at 230V / 2250W from a 10A power point, and the MO-111 uses two independent 2250W / 10A circuits with two controls and two power cords. Both have a 1-10 dial with a thermostat and a concealed Type B control box. Designed and engineered in Bavaria, Germany, they are suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

Product Details & Specifications

Product Features
  • ThermoFlex Shallow Dip Technology: the patented one-piece plate is flat when switched off, and when heated the centre dips gently to form a shallow cooking pit that keeps juices, marinades and sauces pooled where they are needed.
  • Teppanyaki wok effect: cook stir-fries, curries, noodles, fried rice and saucy dishes in the dip, with a hot cooking centre and cooler zones to keep food warm.
  • Cooks everything: grill, fry, sauté, steam, roast or broil steaks, chops, sausages, prawns, fish, eggs, bacon, burger patties and vegetables, and even make pancakes, all on one surface.
  • Two sizes: the MO-80 has about 2120 sq/cm of cooking area, and the MO-111 has about 4065 sq/cm for entertaining larger groups.
  • Two independent cooking wells on the MO-111: 2 independent controls and 2 independent hot centres form 2 separate cooking wells, so each side can run at its own temperature.
  • 4mm 304 stainless steel top: food grade German stainless steel, cold pressed and hand-welded, with a silk-brushed finish that is hand finished and hard wearing, including in coastal conditions.
  • Concealed control box: the Type B control box fixes out of sight inside the cabinet, with only a slim round plate carrying the 1-10 dial and indicator lights on show.
  • Precise heat control: a 1-10 dial with a thermostat gives contact heat from 55 to 230°C.
  • Flame-free, indoor and outdoor use: the electric element needs no gas and no flame, and both data sheets list an IPX4 rating. Indoor installation needs suitable ventilation.
  • Easy to clean: the plate cools flat for a simple wipe down, with no drip trays or removable parts.
  • Energy efficient: about 1 kWh per meal, a low-energy alternative to a gas BBQ.
  • Safety approvals: CE, GS, VDE and ASNZS safety approvals, with UL approved electrical and electronic components.
Programmes / Functions
  • Temperature control: turn the 1-10 control dial to set the heat. A thermostat holds the temperature, and 2 indicator lights are fitted to each control.
  • Contact heat range: 55°C to 230°C (130°F to 450°F) on the cooking surface.
  • Shallow dip: the flat plate dips gently at the centre as it heats, keeping juices and marinades in the cooking pit, and flattens back to its original shape as it cools.
  • Heat zones: the hot cooking centre reaches up to about 230°C, and the cooler outer areas are used to keep food warm or finish it gently.
  • Two wells (MO-111): two independent controls let you run a hot sear on one side and a gentler cook or warming zone on the other.
  • First use seasoning: wipe the plate with a damp cloth and dry it, spread a thin coat of food-grade oil, then heat on medium-high for 5 to 10 minutes. Some light smoke is normal while the oil bonds to the steel. Let the plate cool slightly and wipe away excess oil.
  • Preheating: let the grill heat fully before adding oil or food. Flick a few drops of water on the plate: if they bead up and skitter across before evaporating, it is ready to cook.
  • Oil: use a thin, even film of a high smoke point oil such as rice bran, canola or grapeseed oil. Avoid olive oil, which burns at searing temperatures and can taste bitter.
  • Cooking order: cook proteins such as chicken thigh, beef strips, prawns and scallops first, then move on to vegetables like zucchini, mushrooms, corn, Asian greens, bean sprouts and onion.
  • Sauces and marinades: add soy sauce, sesame oil or a marinade directly onto the plate. The dip keeps it pooled in the centre so it reduces and coats the food.
  • Steaming: add a little water to the centre of the plate, cover fish with a cloche and let the steam cook it gently.
  • Cooling: when the surface cools it returns to a flat plate, ready for a simple wipe down.

Installation & Requirements
  • Cut-out: MO-80 cut-out is 730mm x 540mm with 15mm corner radius. MO-111 cut-out is 1078mm x 549mm. In stone, the cut-out and holes should be made by CNC milling. Do not cut or drill until the unit is on site, and do not cut off the mounting studs.
  • Fixing: mark the stud holes and drill 8mm holes (the 5mm, 45mm long studs fit loosely). Slide the cooktop in without force, press down evenly and secure the studs with the supplied washers and nuts from underneath, using hand tools only. Re-tighten after a couple of uses.
  • Sealing: clean the underside edges of the unit and the benchtop around the cut-out with rubbing alcohol or similar. A thin bead of silicone sealant (not glue) around the underside edge is optional, and mandatory when installed outside without weather cover. Keep silicone out of the stud holes.
  • Surround and clearance: the grill must be surrounded on all 4 sides by at least 15cm of stone, wood or stainless steel, with 10cm clearance below. A benchtop thickness of about 40mm is advised unless reinforced.
  • Control box: fasten the Type B control box firmly to a non-moving surface inside the cabinet or under the benchtop, using the supplied metal template. Do not open it, and do not snap, pull or twist the conduit.
  • Electrical requirement: 230V. The MO-80 needs one 10A power point and the MO-111 needs two 10A power points. Connect the 3 metre power cord firmly to the rear of the control box and plug it into a properly grounded power point. Check the control box label for the correct voltage. Installation should be carried out by a licensed electrician.
  • Warranty note: the warranty is void if the thermostat capillary tube inside the conduit is damaged, if the control box is opened, or if power tools are used to tighten the nuts.

Extra Information

Cook N Dine's UltraDine Plus teppanyaki grills are designed and engineered in Germany and crafted by metal artisans in Weilheim, Bavaria. The cooking top is a single piece of silk-brushed 304 stainless steel, hand finished and built to last.

Because they are flame-free, the MO-80 and MO-111 can be installed where gas BBQs are restricted, including balconies, poolside cabanas, holiday homes, caravans and boats, as long as a standard 240V power supply is available. Indoor installation needs suitable ventilation.

The MO-80 suits a single-grill outdoor kitchen, and the MO-111 suits larger entertaining with two separate cooking wells. If you are unsure which model suits your project, Cook N Dine can help with installation guidance and model selection.
