• Heat control 0 to 9: turn the knob to the setting for the food being cooked. The indicator light shows the appliance is powered and the grill is heating.
• Preparing to cook: lift out the grill and cover, rotate the drop-down heating element upwards and spread the lava stone evenly in the tray, then refit the element, cover and grill.
• Preheating: allow a few minutes for the grill to heat up properly before adding food. Use suitable heat protection when handling food on the grill.
• Suggested settings: Barazza's cooking table suggests settings of about 6 to 8 for most meat, fish, vegetables and bread.
• Changing temperature mid-cook: adjust the knob while cooking. When finished, turn it back to 0 (off).
• Meat: marinate for at least an hour, choose cuts at least 2-3cm thick, turn steaks and cutlets once they lift away easily, and pierce or score sausages so they do not split.
• Kebabs, vegetables and mushrooms: turn kebabs often and brush them with oil while cooking. Cut vegetables and mushrooms into thickish slices and glaze with oil as they cook.
• Fish and fruit: if cooking trout directly on the grill, brush the skin often so it does not stick. Cut fruit into thickish slices.
• Bruschetta: brush bread slices with oil and toast on the grill, then rub with garlic and season with olive oil and salt.
• First use: clean the cooking surface and components, then heat the empty barbecue for a few minutes. Some smoke or odour is normal at first from the factory grease burning off.

• Qualified installation: must be carried out by qualified personnel and comply with the electrical regulations in force. Switch off the main supply and unplug the BBQ during installation or service work.
• Cut-out: 66.5 x 49cm. The BBQ flange is 69.6 x 52cm and the BBQ is 7cm deep.
• Clearances: minimum 3.5cm at the sides, 8cm at the rear and 56cm above the BBQ. If a rangehood is installed above, follow the hood's own instructions for mounting height.
• Cabinet: must be in perfect, stable condition (DIN 68930) and made of material that resists 120°C. Allow at least 2cm between Thalas appliances.
• Fitting: lay the sponge seal strip on the benchtop (not under the edge of the BBQ), set the BBQ over the cut-out and secure it with the supplied screws and brackets.

• Power point position: the socket must stay accessible once the BBQ is installed.
• Power cable: do not crush or coil it, let it touch liquids, sharp or hot objects, use extension leads or let it get 50°C above room temperature. Replace only with the same cable type, via a service centre.
• Surrounding area: the area around the BBQ can get very hot. Keep power outlets, other appliances, cables, hoses and heat-sensitive or flammable items clear.
• Outdoor use: designed for outdoor kitchens. Use the cover for protection and store the BBQ sheltered from the weather if it is not used often.

You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

An electric BBQ makes sense where gas bottles are impractical or not permitted, such as on covered balconies, in apartment terraces and in tightly built courtyards. The Thalas BBQ keeps the look of a traditional barbecue, with a cast iron grid over lava stone, but needs only a power point.

The lava stone retains heat and spreads it evenly, and Barazza notes that food can normally be cooked without added fat, leaving it leaner while keeping flavour and nutrients. Meat, fish, poultry, fruit and vegetables can all go on the grill.

The Thalas 70cm builds on the 37cm model with a second cooking zone and 3.5kW of power. It sits alongside the matching teppanyaki so a whole outdoor cooking line can be assembled, and the AISI 316 body is selected for exposure to salt air and weather.

Optional accessory: the 1C306 stainless steel cover/tray suits both the Thalas barbecue and teppanyaki models.

If you find damage on delivery, do not install the BBQ. Contact your retailer within 8 days. If a fault appears, stop using the BBQ, unplug it and contact a service centre. Use original spare parts only.
