• Installation type: Freestanding on a firm, level surface (not carpet) that lets the base ventilate. Install in a well ventilated location with an ambient temperature of 15-25°C.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

The AWM1814W uses a cold water connection only and requires water pressure of 0.1 to 1 MPa (0.1 MPa means more than 8 litres of water per minute from a fully opened tap). Connect the drain hose to a standpipe or the outlet of a household sink at a height of no more than 100 cm from the floor, and never extend it. The machine is for domestic use only, and installation should be carried out by an authorised service agent.

Programme times vary with the load, water temperature, ambient temperature and options selected. Maximum loads are 8.0kg for Cotton 90°, Pre-Wash Cotton 60°, Cotton Eco 60°, Rinsing and Spinning (towels up to 4.0kg), 4.0kg for Eco 20°, Allergy Safe, Blouses/Shirts and Daily 60, 3.5kg for Easy Care, Sports Wear and Mixed, 2.5kg for Wool and Sensitive/Hand Wash, and 2.0kg for Rapid 12. Typical programme times run from 12 minutes for Rapid 12 and 60 minutes for Daily 60 to 190 minutes for Cotton 90° and 245 minutes for Cotton Eco 60°.

Use a low-foaming detergent suitable for automatic washing machines. Use the pre-wash only for very dirty laundry, putting about a quarter of the detergent in compartment I and the rest in compartment II; in hard water areas more detergent will be needed. Rapid 12 uses less detergent, and the machine can be opened about 2 minutes after a cycle finishes. If the machine detects an uneven load the unbalance control will redistribute the laundry before the spin starts.

The energy rating of 308 kWh per year and the water rating of 69 litres per wash are based on the Cotton Eco 40°C programme at 1400 RPM with an 8kg load, seven washes per week, tested to AS/NZS 2040.2 and AS/NZS 6400. Actual energy use and running costs depend on how the appliance is used. Use shorter programmes for lightly soiled laundry, leave the door open after use to let the drum dry, and unplug the machine and turn off the water if it will be left unused for a long time.
