• Burner ignition: Press the knob in fully and turn it left to the large flame position. Hold until the gas lights, release, then set the flame size. Keep it pressed for about 10 seconds after ignition so the flame stabilises.
• If a burner does not light: If it has not lit after 15 seconds, switch it off and wait at least one minute before trying again.
• Flame sizes: Large flame, small economical flame and off, adjustable continuously between large and small. Avoid positions between off and large flame.
• Choosing pans: Use a pan base larger than the burner crown: 90 to 150mm for the auxiliary burner, 160 to 220mm for a medium burner and 200 to 240mm for the wok burner.
• Oven ignition: Press and hold the oven knob for about 3 seconds after the flame lights so the safety sensor warms up, then turn to the chosen temperature. If the flame goes out, repeat after 3 seconds, or after about 1 minute if it has not lit within 10 seconds.
• Temperature control: The thermostat runs from 150°C to 265°C and works with the oven door closed.
• Separate oven lighting: Turns the oven lamp on without heating, for example when washing the oven chamber.
• Mechanical timer: Turn the timer to the time you want, then set the oven. It sounds when the pre-set time ends. Turn it to the manual position to cook without the timer.
• Grilling: Grill with the door closed. The oven thermostat is off while grilling and the grill burner runs at full power, so preheating is not needed. Oil the grill grid and place the grease pan one level lower.

• Qualified installation: Must be installed by an authorised person in line with the manual, AS/NZS 5601.1 gas installations, local gas and electrical regulations and the Building Code of Australia.
• Gas supply: Supplied for natural gas. Conversion to universal LPG needs an injector change and flame adjustment by an authorised gas fitter. Use a certified flexible hose and check all connections for leaks with soapy water, never a flame.
• Gas access: The gas connection must be reachable without removing the oven.

You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Match the gas before you order. The AFGG54W is supplied set for natural gas and can be converted to universal LPG by an authorised gas fitter who swaps the burner injectors and adjusts the flame, so tell your installer which supply you have. It plugs into a standard 10A outlet for the ignition and oven electrics, and the gas connection is at the right rear.

The wok burner gives you a strong, fast flame for stir-fries, while the auxiliary burner is gentle enough for sauces. Choose pans larger than the burner crown, covered where possible, and cook smaller pieces of meat on the hob rather than heating the oven for less than about a kilo.

For first use, wash the oven fittings with warm soapy water, open a window or switch on the rangehood and heat the empty oven to 250°C for about 30 minutes. If the oven flame goes out, wait for the oven to ventilate before relighting, and never blow out a burner flame.
