• Qualified installation: All electrical work must be carried out by a suitably qualified and authorised electrician in line with the user manual.
• Electrical supply: Built for 380–415V 3N~ 50Hz, 8.0kW in total, with 220–240V heating elements. It can be adapted to single-phase 220–240V by bridging the terminals in the connection box as shown in the diagram.
• Earthing and isolation: The safety wire must be connected to the earth terminal. The fixed supply must include an all-pole disconnection device, and the connection cable must be secured in the strain-relief clamp.
• Ventilation: The kitchen should be dry and airy with effective ventilation, for example a ventilation grid or hood.
• Clearances: Leave about 2cm of free space around the cooker. The wall behind should resist high temperatures, as its back can warm to around 50°C above ambient.
• Furniture: Coatings and veneers on adjacent furniture must use heat-resistant adhesive rated to 100°C.
• Floor: Stand the cooker on a hard, even floor, not on a base.
• Levelling: Level the cooker before use. The adjustable feet are reached after removing the drawer, with an adjustment range of ±5mm.
• Anti-tilt chains: Secure the two chains at the rear of the cooker to the wall behind it, as short as practicable and diagonal to stop sideways movement.
• Splashback: The splashback is fixed to the rear wall of the cooker for transport. Remove it before installation and fit it to the rear of the cooktop section.
• Position: Do not install it in the direct vicinity of a refrigerator or freezer, and keep access to the controls free.
• Indoor use: Intended for household use only.

Australian Consumer Law

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Check the gap and the switchboard before you order. At 540mm wide, the AFC547W suits cut-outs made for 54cm cookers and is not a drop-in swap for a 60cm model. It is built for three-phase 8.0kW with a bridging option for single-phase 220–240V, so an electrician should confirm the connection and cable for your home.

The flat glass hob makes cleaning easy, but it rewards the right pans. Choose thick, flat-based pans at least as large as the zone, never concave or convex, and avoid putting wet-bottomed pans on a warm zone. Switch zones off 5 to 10 minutes before the end of long cooking times to use the residual heat.

For first use, wash the oven fittings with warm soapy water, ventilate the room and heat the empty oven at 250°C for about 30 minutes, then heat each hob zone for about 4 minutes without a pan. Some smoke and a manufacturing odour are normal and fade within about 30 minutes. The cooker must be secured with its anti-tilt chains.
