• Opening the BBQ: lift the BBQ off the wall bracket and rotate it 90 degrees until it sits at a right angle to the wall, then push it towards the rear until it clicks into position and lower it slowly into place. Lift the stainless steel cover and open it fully, which also protects the wall while you cook.
• Temperature control: each plate has its own knob that runs from 0 to maximum, so the smooth plate and grooved plate can be set independently.
• Preheating: wait a few minutes for the plates to reach cooking temperature before putting food directly on them.

• Wall strength: the BBQ weighs 27.1kg, so choose a wall that can hold it. Brickwork is recommended, fixed with plastic plugs, dyna bolts or similar. On any other wall type, take special care that the bracket is fixed to something strong enough.
• Marking the holes: use the socket punch from the packaging as a template to mark the wall bracket holes at a suitable working height. The recommended distance from point A to the ground is 90cm.
• Drilling and fixing: drill 10mm holes the length of the plastic plug, clear out the dust, insert the plugs, then fix the wall bracket with the supplied screws. Place the BBQ on the bracket, check the fixing bolts sit in the BBQ holes, and slowly lift it upwards.
• Drain cup: fit the oil drain cup part to the BBQ, then place the drain cup on it.
• Outdoor use only: install outdoors, protected from direct rain. If a working rangehood or air ventilation or purification device is not installed, allow at least 4 metres of clearance above the unit.
• Power: a 10 amp, 240 volt power point is needed nearby, on a circuit with an RCD of 30mA or less. The power point must be accessible after installation and the BBQ must be on a properly earthed outlet. Do not use power boards or extension leads.
• Clearances: use the BBQ at least 200mm away from combustible objects such as timber, vinyl siding, fences and overhangs, and at least 3 metres from a pool, spa, pond or water faucet.
• Installer: installation and electrical connection must follow local regulations and be carried out by a competent technician or licensed electrician.
• User manual: read the user manual thoroughly before installing or using the BBQ.

The WM700EW is aimed at the people gas BBQs leave behind: apartment owners, townhouse residents and anyone with a small courtyard or balcony. Because it is electric, there is no gas bottle to store, refill or argue about with the body corporate, and because it folds to just 150mm deep, the wall space it occupies is hardly noticeable between barbecues.

Cooking works differently from a gas BBQ. Heat comes from two radiant elements under ceramic glass, so the plates warm up in a few minutes and each side can run at its own temperature, with the smooth plate for delicate foods and the grooved plate for steaks and sausages. The glass top wipes clean, the drip channel keeps fats away from the food, and the red residual heat lights tell you when it is still too hot to fold away.

Planning matters on the wall side. The bracket needs a strong wall, with brickwork recommended, the unit needs its own 10 amp power point near the fixing height, and an open outdoor position protected from rain is required, with 4 metres of clearance above if there is no rangehood or ventilation. Get these right at installation and the BBQ is a very low-maintenance way to cook outdoors.
