Vacuum sealing removes oxygen from the storage environment, assisting with flavour retention, freezer protection, controlled marinating, and extended refrigerated storage when food is stored appropriately.

Bosch specifies that only suitable vacuum sealing bags and approved vacuum containers should be used with the appliance. The drawer is also suitable for vacuum sealing jars, containers, marinades, liquids, fruit, vegetables, meats, fish, and opened wine bottles using the supplied accessories.
